Acts 13: 49 “And the word of the Lord was being spread through the whole region.”
This is exactly what we need to be doing as Christians, not just sitting at the comfort of our pews from Sunday to Sunday. Get involved, get up, and get going! The Lords church isn’t just going to grow itself, we have to take a stand and spread the Word.
Get excited, get moving!
We can either choose to move forward, standstill, or fall behind. Now which sounds more like it would be pleasing to God? Moving forward. We need to be careful that we are not being too comfortable in our congregations, which is similar to us just standing still. What happens if we stand still? It allows for everyone else to move a long, passing us, while we begin to fall behind.
While Jesus was here, his mission was to seek and save this lost. Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” This too, should be our mission while we are here. The church belongs to Him. Matthew 16:18 “I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.”
Paul believed in moving ahead. (Philippians 3:12-14) Moving ahead is our greatest chance to avoid decline and failure. How can we move ahead? Take a STAND for Him and act upon it.
Never be ashamed
We have a voice, use it! Whether it’s going door to door, telling the people you know, or missionary work. Show other people the light, so that they may have the chance of everlasting life after this passing life. Eternity is not nearly as long as our life on earth is. Time spent on earth is like one grain of sand. And eternity is like all the billions of sand grains there is, each one by one at a time going to the moon and back over and over. It is a long time, so talk to others, they deserve the chance too. Jesus died for everyone, not just you and me.
Mark 16:15 “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
2 Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.”
When we talk to others, we need to make sure what we are saying is true. That it is backed up by scripture, not misinterpreting the scriptures as many denominations.
2 Timothy 4:3 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;..”
We need to make sure we are speaking the truth before we teach. The bible is our one and only handbook we truly need.
Zechariah 8:16 “These are the things in which you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates.”
Ephesians 4:25 “Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.”
God blessed us with a very special ability—the heart. The heart hold so much, such as our interest, dreams, goals, hopes, and desires. Our heart shows us who we are. (Proverbs 27:19) And most importantly, our heart is the source of all motivation, it is the center and core of it all. We have the ability and strength to get up and spread the word of God. Let us not be lazy in doing so. 1 Tim 5:13 “At the same time they also learn to be idle, as they go from house to house; and not merely idle, but also gossips and busybodies, talking about things not proper to mention.” Let’s be excited and active, full of happy and motivating hearts! Let’s bring more souls to our Lord!
Never be ashamed
Never be ashamed of the gospel of Christ to spread His word.
2 Timothy 1:8 “Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God.”
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
He died for us, because He loved us. And we should love Him enough to spread His word.
Do not deny your savior, or else He will deny you. Matthew 10:33 “But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My father who is heaven.”
Even if the person refuses to change their ways, or wants no part in learning, then at least we had tried. It is better try to save souls then to go in front of the Father upon judgment day and say you did not or “had no time”.
Be determined to go out and spread the word! Let us accept the challenge of making a difference in the world, evangelizing in our communities and wherever we can. Let’s go out and teach the world. Our Lord is with us always, even to the end of the world. (Matthew 28: 19-20) We have to be the ones that make the difference in the world, take that challenge and embrace it!
1 Corinthians 15: 58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”
Stand your ground and be immovable and never be discouraged!
